Council honors Academic Magnet girls tennis team, Oceanside football champs and memorializes Carolyn Singleton

The council adopted a resolution congratulating the Academic Magnet High School girls tennis team for winning the South Carolina High School League Division II championship. Coach Mark Borst and team members were acknowledged and received resolutions.
Later the council adopted a resolution honoring Oceanside Collegiate Academy for winning the Division III state football championship. A coach accepted the recognition and thanked the county for its support: "We just like to thank everybody for all the support... It's not just what you see on the field Friday night," the coach said.
Council also read a memorial resolution for Carolyn Singleton, describing her decades of service as an educator and ministry leader and inviting family members to accept the council’s recognition.
These items were adopted by voice vote and included brief remarks, photo opportunities, and expressions of gratitude and remembrance.
