Council members received results of a resident survey on proposed peak‑hour turn restrictions in the Hader Avenue neighborhood.

Public Works Director Adriana Figueroa told the council staff mailed 557 notices that covered 479 properties and limited one response per property. A total of 55 responses were returned; 36 respondents (65%) opposed the proposed AM eastbound left‑turn restriction at Alondra Boulevard and the PM eastbound right‑turn restriction at Somerset Boulevard, while 19 respondents (35%) supported the measures. Figueroa said some comments favored keeping existing driving routes and suggested alternatives such as a traffic signal or increased enforcement.

Figueroa said public safety had already begun extra enforcement and recommended not implementing the listed peak‑hour turn restrictions at this time. Several council members asked staff to identify best practices to raise survey response rates for future outreach and suggested the item remain subject to further study if conditions change.

No public speakers were recorded at the hearing and the item was filed as presented. The council did not take a new binding action to install turn restrictions during the meeting; staff were directed to continue outreach and enforcement options.
