The Montgomery City Planning Commission on Monday held a public hearing on a development plan for a new Chase Bank to be located at 3118 Zelda Road.
Chip Burgess of Burgess Rome Architects told the commission the proposal is for a single‑story, 3,005‑square‑foot banking facility with teller space, a drive‑up ATM and a night‑drop lane. "We're building a new 3,005 square foot bank banking facility to be located at 3118 Zelda Road," Burgess said.
Burgess said the site would have one driveway directly on Zelda Road with two additional driveways interconnected to the adjacent shopping center. He described the Zelda Road access as a right‑in/right‑out and said an existing driveway in the same location remains in use. On lighting, Burgess said the design will meet current banking regulations and include building‑mounted fixtures.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about vehicular access and lighting; no members of the public offered opposition during the hearing. The chair closed the public hearing after the presentation and questions. No final vote or formal action on the development plan was recorded at the meeting; the commission will follow its normal process for deliberation and recommendation to city council.
