The Murrieta City Council conducted its reorganization on Dec. 16 in accordance with council rules and Resolution 19-4178. Council member Laurie Stone nominated John LaBelle for mayor; nominations closed and the council recorded a roll-call vote in favor. John LaBelle accepted the nomination.

The council then filled the mayor pro tem position; Ron Holiday was nominated and affirmed by the body. The clerk recorded the votes and staff announced motions carried without recorded dissent.

After the selection, council recognized the outgoing mayor, Cindy Warren, who delivered closing remarks summarizing her year in office and accomplishments. The council recessed briefly for a social break and returned to the regular meeting.
