Commissioners and staff discussed distinguishing nonprofit classifications (for example, specific 501(c) designations), clarifying language that grants entities reserve the right to waive informalities and to reject proposals not in the community's best interest, and providing an alternative fillable PDF for applicants without Gmail accounts.
Staff indicated the form would be the primary submission method, with a fillable-PDF alternative available through staff assistance. The application is scheduled to be released Jan. 2, and staff said they are on a tight timeline to finalize content and legal review.
Commissioners expressed support for the streamlined form and suggested minor edits for clarity. No formal vote was required at the Nov. 18 meeting; staff will incorporate edits and return the finalized form for release preparation.
