At the Nov. 17 meeting, city staff provided an update on the Pokagon utility project, reporting that construction is underway and the contractor’s work has proceeded without notable issues.
Staff said they have received phone inquiries from residents about utility connections along the route and that outreach has been ongoing. The council was told the city had previously approved waiving connection fees for two years and staff is planning to start that waiver in 2027 after the project is completed.
Council members asked whether the work included water, sewer, or both; staff replied both, with more questions coming about water connections than sewer. No formal action was taken; the update was received for information.
