Arlene Sabrina Farmer of 5893 Trent Walk Drive told City of Stonecrest planning staff on Dec. 16, 2025, that she operates an arts-and-crafts business from a home office and that no customers visit the residence.
"I have an office in my home, and so I just paint in there," Farmer said. "There's no signage on my house. No customers come into my house. I usually go to vendor events, and that's what I do." Farmer gave her name and address for the record during a special administrative permit public hearing for case SA25061.
A city moderator and Planning & Zoning staff described the Type 1 home-occupation permit as applicable only where no customer contact occurs and cited City Ordinance Chapter 27, Section 4.2.0.31. A resident, Vanessa Daniels of 5885 Trent Walk Drive, asked whether the business would operate as an online-only enterprise or a storefront and whether hours would disturb the neighborhood; Farmer reiterated that the activity is confined to a home office and that sales occur at vendor events.
Staff asked Farmer to confirm she would comply with the city ordinance; Farmer agreed. Planning staff said Farmer would receive a written decision from Planning & Zoning within 24 to 48 hours.
The hearing record shows no formal vote taken at the meeting; the permit decision is pending and will be issued in writing after staff completes its administrative review.
