East Bank board approves Interstate Drive and Sylvan Street MOUs

At its meeting the East Bank Development Authority approved two memoranda of understanding that lay out roles and responsibilities between East Bank and Nashville Electric Service for infrastructure work on Interstate Drive and Sylvan Street.
Interstate Drive: staff explained the MOU divides responsibilities: East Bank will procure construction and install trenching and duct bank infrastructure, while NES will install transformers and pull electrical service. The board moved and approved the Interstate Drive MOU on a voice vote called by the Chair.
Sylvan Street: staff said the Sylvan Street MOU supports a temporary relocation of overhead lines down Sylvan to enable work on Parcel G (referred to in the meeting as Ellington). Staff noted there is not yet a construction contract for the permanent work and that East Bank aims to open future work to competitive bidding once its procurement processes are established. The board approved the Sylvan Street MOU after discussion about timing and procurement procedures.
