Council approves Salem Park restroom contract ($465,235.63) and expands Southeast Athletic Complex restrooms

The Stonecrest City Council unanimously approved two vendor recommendations on Nov. 24 to complete restroom projects at Salem Park and the Southeast Athletic Complex.
For Salem Park staff recommended a design–build contract to construct a restroom and a sanitary sewer line from a nearby subdivision. The city engineer reported the total package cost at $465,235.63. The engineer said the female side will include two toilets, the male side one toilet and one urinal, and that ADA-compliant fixtures will be provided.
Council members asked for fixture counts and ADA compliance; the engineer confirmed ADA-accessible toilets on each side. The council voted 5–0 to approve the vendor recommendation.
At the Southeast Athletic Complex the council approved an expansion of the existing restroom building to add fixtures on both male and female sides. The engineer described the addition as increasing overall fixture capacity (described in the presentation as bringing the facility to roughly 16 fixtures distributed across new and existing spaces) and said the expansion should reduce the need for rented portable toilets at larger events.
Both projects are part of the city’s FY26 capital improvement program funding for parks and are intended to improve user experience and event capacity at Stonecrest’s recreation facilities. The Salem Park contract will move to procurement and construction scheduling; the Southeast expansion will proceed under the same procurement recommendations.
