Arlington's County Board on Dec. 16 voted unanimously to adopt two resolutions expressing a good‑faith commitment to fund tentative successor collective bargaining agreements with the Arlington Coalition of Police (ACOP) and the Arlington Professional Firefighters and Paramedics (IAFF Local 2800).

The resolutions, carried by Vice Chair De Ferrante and seconded by Board members, incorporate fiscal impact studies attached to staff reports and signal the county’s intent to allocate the resources necessary to implement the tentative agreements. Board members said funding those agreements is a personnel priority and is reflected in the budget guidance adopted earlier in the meeting.

The Board’s action endorses the fiscal studies attached to the agreements and passed with no opposition.

Next steps: staff will include funding estimates in the FY2027 budget materials and coordinate implementation details with the affected departments.
