County officials say shelter groundwork and new health services building are progressing

County officials reported progress on two capital projects at the Bay County Board of Commissioners’ Dec. 9 special meeting.

Mr. Barcia told the board that the shelter site work is underway and that the new health services building is advancing quickly. "I'll just say, you know, it's been an expeditious meeting today, so we'll keep it brief," Mr. Barcia said, then outlined that Champagne and Marks is working at the shelter site and that interior work at the health services building is moving rapidly.

Kristen, who provided additional project detail, said the health services project is "ahead of schedule." She added, "There's over 1000 pieces of drywall already hung on the walls," and noted that animal services work is continuing through the winter under contract conditions.
