At the start of her report Unidentified Speaker 1 announced that she and Ray Lapinus were not reappointed to the board and that this meeting would be their last. "Ray and I did not get reappointed, so this is our last meeting," the chair said and thanked members and staff for their support and years of service. The chair also announced the death of the board's first CEO, Dennis Smith, and said the family planned services around the 17th with arrangements still being finalized.
