Board approves committee recommendations, including two procurement awards and live-streaming policy

Committee on Capital Planning Chair Joe Baker moved to award IFB 74725-26 for chemical and grounds lawn-care supplies to Green Resources LLC for an initial one-year term valued at $216,000 with automatic renewal options for four additional one-year terms, producing an estimated five-year contract value of $1,080,000; the superintendent may extend the contract up to two additional years after the five-year term. The committee also recommended award of IFB 74925-26 for carpentry construction supplies to Capital Materials Coastal for an initial one-year term valued at $112,000 and an estimated five-year value of $560,000. The board approved the awards; the transcript records at least one recorded nay on these items.
Board members recorded committee recommendations and voice votes; on one procurement motion the transcript notes "We had 1 nay, miss Costas," and on another a speaker said "put nay." The meeting record did not provide further debate or detail on vendor selection criteria in open session.
