A representative speaking during the Gatesville ISD meeting said Coreo Health has offered to fully fund 50 Axiom helmets equipped with Insight Smart Helmet Technology, which the speaker described as providing alerts and impact reports to coaches.
The speaker said the district currently has about 20 pilot helmets and that the donation would raise the district’s inventory toward roughly 70 helmets. The donor’s request, as stated in the meeting, would include some positive messaging through signage and the district’s social media channels in exchange for covering equipment costs.
Board members and staff discussed the helmet system’s monitoring features and how coaches can use the app to show players safer technique. A board member asked about cost per helmet; no price was provided during the meeting and staff said they would follow up.
The board did not take a separate vote specifically to accept the donation during the public session; the donation was presented for recognition and consideration.
