Chautauqua County Legislature adopts a slate of routine resolutions, blocks a budget package for grouped vote

The Chautauqua County Legislature approved a range of routine resolutions and administrative measures at its Nov. 19 meeting, adopting actions on property transfers, easements, intermunicipal service agreements and budget amendments.
Notable actions included:
- Resolution 276-25 (transfer of tax-foreclosure property to the City of Dunkirk): amendment approved and the amended measure adopted by roll call (16 yes, 3 absent).
- Resolution 278-25 (conveyance of easement/right of way to Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation): adopted by roll call (16 yes, 3 absent).
- Authorization of an agreement with the New York State Department of Transportation for federal-aid project PIN 5765.3: adopted (voice vote).
- A series of budget amendments and acceptances, including amendments for public health and the veteran service agency, acceptance of a Univera award for Office for Aging evidence-based wellness programming, and amendments for the sheriff27s office, were approved (voice votes as recorded).
- Agreements authorizing enhanced police protection services for towns (fiscal years 20262D27), court security agreements, STOP-DWI enforcement contracts, mortgage-tax distribution and a settlement authorization were all carried without recorded opposition.
- Legislator Bankoski moved, and Legislator Gustafson seconded, a motion to block resolutions 296-25 through 302-25; the Legislature approved the block motion and, after a roll-call, the blocked resolutions were adopted with 16 yes votes and 3 absences.
The meeting concluded with routine announcements and an informational presentation; no major contested fiscal measures or amendments to binding county appropriations were passed at this session beyond those noted.
