Planning board tables proposed 155-foot ‘monopine’ telecom tower at Lawson

The Cheektowaga Planning Board voted on Nov. 26 to table an application for a proposed 155-foot wireless telecommunications tower disguised as a tree at Lawson. Speaker 2 told the board the applicant was not in attendance and that Costage Engineering is preparing a wetland delineation that must be reviewed before further action.
The application described a monopine with space for 21 mounted devices, accessory cabinets, a backup diesel generator and less than a quarter-acre of leased property. Speaker 2 said the applicant had provided an update in response to DEC comments but was not present to respond to questions from the board.
Board members discussed the status of outstanding environmental documentation and a pending wetland delineation; Speaker 2 moved to table the item and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The item will reappear on the December agenda once the DEC and engineering submissions are available for review.
