The council introduced Ordinance 552 to update Angels Camp’s local building code from the 2022 edition to the 2025 edition, describing the change as part of the normal triennial update. Staff said there were no significant changes in the update and advised the local effective date would be Feb. 5, 2026 if the council schedules the second reading on Jan. 6, 2026.

The council opened the public hearing, received no public comment on the code change, and directed the item for second reading on Jan. 6, 2026.
