The Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to adopt calendar draft 1 for the 2026–27 school year after a presentation by Dr. Silva and a recommendation from the District Education Improvement Committee (DEIC).

Dr. Silva told trustees the calendar process began in September and included DEIC review and a community voting period in November. She said both calendar options included 171 instructional days and 16 professional (EP) days; draft 1 largely mirrors the current year and was the community favorite, receiving about 56% support in the district’s vote.

Trustee (speaker 2) moved to approve the superintendent’s recommendation to adopt calendar draft 1, to approve elementary summer-school instructional dates for summer 2026 (May 29–June 22, 2026) and to designate specific 2026 days as non-business days for the purposes of the Texas Public Information Act. The motion passed with no recorded opposition.

Board members praised the DEIC process and district staff for aligning the calendar with nearby colleges and for maintaining transition days that trustees said benefit teachers of young students. Dr. Silva noted the calendars also include two EP days placed differently across drafts and that DEIC recommended the configuration in draft 1.

The board’s action sets the district’s official calendar for the 2026–27 school year and the announced summer-school window for elementary students.
