Oregon City Board approves substitute pay increases, enters architect negotiations and adopts 88 state policies

The board also voted to authorize the administration to enter negotiations with The Bureau Group for architectural services for the career tech engineering room renovation project. Members approved the resolution by roll call during the meeting.
Separately, the board adopted a set of 88 policies provided by the state—two new policies and 36 revisions among them—by a roll-call vote. The board approved the presented 2627 school calendar, noting a slightly later start and end date for that school year.
The board approved a memorandum of understanding establishing general language for a retire-rehire process with the Oregon City Federation of Teachers Local 1080; the superintendent clarified the MOU provides language only and that any specific rehiring would follow additional procedural steps regarding enrollment, pay and position determination.
The meeting included routine business: approval of previous minutes, the treasurer's report and a consent agenda. The treasurer reported a current cash balance of $20,300,000 and about 141 days cash on hand; the district moved funds from PNC to STAR Ohio producing roughly $36,000 to nearly $80,000 in monthly interest earnings, the report said.
