The Collingswood Public School District Board of Education opened its meeting by presenting December 'Hawk Hero' awards. Miss Bolden introduced the program and read teachers' nominations for students praised for welcoming and inclusive behavior, naming students such as Julia Deger, Scout Becker, Willie Lyon, Marky Villevo, Ben Soody and Catherine.

Teachers described nominees as "positive, friendly, interested in others, and accepting of people of all backgrounds," and the board and families applauded the recognition. "I'm Miss Bolden and I am presenting the Hawk Hero Awards tonight for our December Hawk Heroes," Miss Bolden said as she read nomination comments.

The board also took time to honor outgoing members Missus Rotondo, Mister Schafer and Mister Stotts for their service and invited them to stand for recognition and photographs.

Ending: Board members and community representatives thanked the recognized students and outgoing trustees; the meeting proceeded to committee business.
