The Augusta Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the final plat and drainage plan for Red Bud Ridge (case 2025-22), a roughly 4.4-acre subdivision along North Ohio, and forwarded the case to the city council for final action on Monday, Dec. 15.
Planning staff told the commission that the property is zoned R-3 and that the rezoning had already been approved by the planning commission and city council. "There haven't been any significant changes to the plat or drainage since your prelim review back in October," the staff member said, and recommended the board approve and forward the recommendation to council. Staff noted the turnaround to council is fast because the planning step does not require the usual protest waiting period.
Board members asked only for minor clarifications. A board member noted that staff reviewer Jake had reviewed the submittal and "didn't see any issues with it," and the staff representative said the only edits requested were wording changes to owner certificates and reserve language to ensure that, if the city had to perform maintenance, charges could be assessed back to property owners (an abatement mechanism).
A motion to approve the final plat and drainage for case 2025-22 was made, seconded and the chair announced the motion carries. The commission confirmed the case is scheduled for consideration by the city council on Monday at 12:15.
The matter will next appear on the city council agenda for final approval; staff said they expect to publish the revised calendar and application deadlines alongside the council schedule.
