Anderson council sets April 2026 election and approves multiple infrastructure contracts

Sewer-line repair on North McDuffie/East Dorr Street: Staff described a partially collapsed lateral that was approximately 20 feet deep and recommended abandoning the problematic segment and installing a new 8-inch pipe along East Gore Street to consolidate service for four customers. Bids were received and staff recommended awarding the project to Davis Plumbing & Sewage LLC of Iva, S.C., on a low bid of $187,000 plus a 10% contingency ($18,700) for a total authorization of $205,700 from the utility sewer budget; council approved the contract.

Water-line installation on Michelin Boulevard: Staff presented a proposal to install roughly 1,550 feet of 8-inch water main to support existing and anticipated development on Michelin Boulevard. The low responsive bid by Davis Plumbing & Sewage LLC was $157,547.25; staff recommended funding the project from utility water capacity funds and adding a 10% contingency ($15,754.73) for an authorization of approximately $173,301.98.
