The Green Bay Area Public School District board approved two formal items during a Dec. 8 special meeting: a slate of staff hires and a contract to replace the flat roof at Red Smith K-8.
At the start of the special meeting, Lynn (speaker 5) moved to approve employment of staff "as presented," a motion that was seconded and carried by an online roll call with all board members recorded in favor. Later, the board considered bids for roof work at Red Smith K-8. Lynn moved to award the contract to Crafts Incorporated for $428,093; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously after staff confirmed the work covers the flat (EPDM) roof and is not a structural repair.
Board members asked technical questions about scope during discussion, including whether the gymnasium roof or tile portions were affected; staff clarified the contract covers the flat roof and any moisture-related issues tied to that assembly. Online voting was used for both measures and the clerk reported that all board members voted in favor.
After approving the items on the special meeting agenda, the board adjourned that meeting and immediately began a work session.
