The La Grange Park Village Board on Nov. 25 voted unanimously on a series of routine but consequential items, including the annual consent agenda and a set of contracts and authorizations:
- Consent agenda: The board approved minutes, the 2026 regular meeting schedule and standard accounts payable/payroll signatory authorizations (motion moved and seconded; vote unanimous).
- Cook County public health inspections: The board approved a resolution renewing an intergovernmental agreement with the Cook County Department of Public Health for food establishment inspections for the term 12/01/2025'11/30/2026; the fee will remain $100 per inspection.
- Salt purchase: The board authorized waiving the local procurement process and approved an open purchase order with Morton Salt Inc. for bulk rock salt for winter operations, not to exceed $38,586 at $64.31 per ton.
- Surplus vehicle disposal: The board approved an ordinance declaring a 1999 GMC C7-7500 dump truck and snowplow attachment as surplus and authorizing its disposal; staff discussed listing the vehicle on Facebook Marketplace and other disposal options.
- IDOT resolution in lieu of surety bond: The board adopted a standard resolution allowing the village to perform construction and utility work in state right-of-way in 2026 and 2027 without posting a separate surety bond.
- GIS services contract: The board approved renewing an annual agreement with Municipal GIS Partners Inc. (MGP) with a combined not-to-exceed amount of $73,992.56 covering base GIS services and supplemental Microsoft implementation work.
- Property tax levy: The finance committee presented the village's 2025 aggregate levy estimated at $4,648,220 (about 4% above 2024 including a 1% new value estimate); the board approved the levy ordinance and a companion ordinance directing Cook County how to apply PTL reductions. Trustees and staff noted Cook County's late tax bill issuance had delayed receipts but did not change the levy action.
All listed motions passed on roll call with unanimous "yes" votes by the trustees present.
