Delhi Township’s Board of Trustees voted Dec. 10 to adopt the township’s 2026 appropriations and a series of annual administrative resolutions, advancing the budget and operational authorities needed before the Jan. 1 start of the fiscal year.
Administrator Miller described the package as “our 2026 big beautiful bill” during discussion of the appropriations document, and Fiscal Officer Luby ran through routine roll calls as trustees dispensed with second readings and approved each resolution. Trustees recorded unanimous support on the motions presented.
Key fiscal items and context: Miller and Luby told trustees the township’s grand total budget across all funds is $37,800,000.00. Luby also reported recent cash activity that shaped the year‑end picture, including $2,354,000 in bond proceeds used to refinance an existing obligation and several large bond payments and payroll disbursements in November and December.
Votes at a glance (all adopted):
- Resolution 20 25 2 19: Making appropriations for expenditures during fiscal year ending 12/31/2026 (budget adoption). Adopted after dispensing with a second reading.
- Resolution 20 25 2 20: Establishing pay rates for fiscal year 2026. Adopted.
- Resolution 20 25 2 21: Updating Article 21 (wages) of the collective bargaining agreement with the Delhi Firefighters Association. Adopted.
- Resolution 20 25 2 22: Adopting rules under Ohio Revised Code section 121.22. Adopted.
- Resolution 20 25 2 23: Authorizing the township administrator to spend amounts greater than $10,000 in fiscal year 2026. Adopted to allow routine early‑January payments.
Administrator Miller said the appropriations must be submitted to the state and posted following approval; he said the township typically posts the adopted document to its website after the board accepts the resolution. Fiscal Officer Luby confirmed the township expects to submit on schedule.
Trustees also approved a separate personnel compensation resolution for the township law director and renewed a multi‑year equipment lease and other routine contracts (see other article for details). The board moved into an executive session at the end of the public meeting to consider the purchase or sale of property.
The trustees are scheduled to reconvene for their first regular meeting of 2026 on Jan. 14. The adopted appropriations set the legal spending limits for township departments through the 2026 fiscal year.
