Commission approves conditional use permit for Eden animal clinic with public-health and safety conditions

The Weber County Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit for a proposed animal clinic at 3709 East 3300 North in Eden, subject to conditions aimed at public health, safety and site design. Dr. Beau Bradby described a primarily ambulatory practice with limited overnight care and occasional drop-offs; he said he expects to treat one animal at a time in the clinic's early operations and that the facility would not be a boarding kennel.

Planning staff and the applicant discussed likely operational limits (one-to-two animals being treated at a time, large-animal accommodations on an as-needed basis), parking and screening. Staff recommended conditions that include obtaining a Weber County business license, Weber-Morgan Health Department approval, Weber Fire District approval, building-official review for interior remodels, prohibition of parking along 3300 North and completion (or escrow) of a hard-surface parking area prior to issuance of the conditional use permit. The commission voted unanimously to approve the permit with the listed conditions.
