Wyoming Valley West board elects officers during Dec. 3 reorganization meeting

After opening the meeting, a board member nominated Nick Wilson to serve as temporary president; another member seconded the nomination and the board approved the nomination by roll call. The board then directed newly elected and qualified directors to present election certificates to the board secretary; Judge Burrell administered the oath of office to those directors.
Nominations for board president produced a single nominee, Rick Kamas. With no other names offered, the board closed nominations and voted by roll call; all recorded votes were "Yes," and Kamas was elected president. The board then nominated Nick Wilson for vice president, closed nominations and approved him by roll call with all "Yes" votes recorded.
Following the officer elections, the reorganization meeting was adjourned. The board reconvened in a work session later the same evening to continue district business.
