Finance Director Vasquez told the board that Jamise Scott started yesterday as the village’s new accounting manager and that staff is preparing the appropriations/budget ordinance; he said Selden Fox is tentatively scheduled to begin 2025 audit field work in late March and that tax levy data has been submitted to Lake County to meet the year‑end deadline.
Director of Community Services Witt said there has been no progress on Saunders Road with the state and asked residents to check outdoor lighting for code compliance as winter foliage drops reveal fixtures. Witt summarized village standards: lights should be pointed downward, bulbs should not be directly visible from neighboring properties without shielding, security lights are limited to two per lot, security lights must be mounted no higher than 12 feet and not extend more than 30 feet from the house, decorative lights mounted no higher than 8 feet, and tree lighting should point to the trunk and be turned off after 10:00 p.m. when not covered by holiday exemptions.
Trustees asked staff to contact Lake County about the reported pothole/depression on Lake Cook Road near Saunders and to follow up on Tesca’s sidewalk sketches and utility coordination.
