Council approves appointment to Board of Adjustment and takes several executive-session actions

Council approved a motion to appoint Cynthia Kennedy to the Board of Adjustment to fill an expired term (01/01/2026–12/31/2029). The appointment was moved by Councilor Melody Cranford and approved by roll call.
Later in the meeting, the council convened an executive session under Oklahoma statutes to discuss economic development and property-transfer matters, workers' compensation claim number 10-25-18, a pending tort claim (CA-18-2025), and personnel matters (city manager, city attorney, and city clerk). Returning to open session, staff reported the following actions:
• Council directed staff to prepare property-transfer documents as discussed in executive session; the motion passed on roll call with an abstention by Deputy Mayor Derek Reed. • Council approved the workers' compensation settlement discussed in executive session. • Council approved the tort-claim settlement discussed in executive session. • No open-session action was needed on the employment/discipline items for the city manager, city attorney, or city clerk; staff so reported.
