Virginia City updates council on Age Friendly Community survey; action plan draft due in spring

Staff reported the community Age Friendly survey is largely complete and will inform an action plan due in spring; partners include St. Louis County, Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging, AEOA and Essentia Health.
Mary McReynolds updated the committee on Virginia City’s Age Friendly Communities work. She said the community survey is complete and still open for additional responses (hosted by St. Louis County), and staff will use survey responses plus partner datasets to draft an Age Friendly action plan this spring.
McReynolds named partners in the effort, including the Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging, St. Louis County Health and Human Services, AEOA, Essentia Health and library staff, and invited councilors and community members to join smaller working groups on specific domains of the action plan. Staff had circulated a PDF of current survey results to councilors ahead of the meeting.
Next steps: staff will produce a draft action plan in spring and convene domain-specific working groups; outreach and participation remain open to all residents.
