Commission approves library remodel, ratifies $2.63M road contract, and renews Axon taser agreement

The recommended award is $57,467. "Woods Construction received the highest score," Gardner said; the commission voted to approve the award.
Road work and ratification: Purchasing staff asked the commission to ratify a previously signed Holbrook Asphalt contract for the Chipseal and Paving Project on six county roads in the amount of $2,626,000. Jenny Bird said the work had been awarded Aug. 19 and the contract was signed under a timeline constraint; the commission ratified the contract.
Taser contract renewal: Sheriff Labrum presented terms for an Axon Enterprise Inc. contract to replace aging tasers, totaling $288,048 over 60 months (roughly $57,610 per year). Labrum said the contract is budgeted and proposed a 03/01/2026 start date for a five‑year term; commissioners approved the renewal.
Road maintenance & culverts: The road department presented two maintenance agreements with KW Trucking. Commissioners approved the first agreement (500 South / 4500 West) and discussed the second, while separately approving a culvert installation and maintenance agreement that requires county inspection and sizing (Sunrise Engineering referenced as the engineering reviewer).
What’s next: Contracts will be executed per county purchasing policies; the Holbrook ratification documents and the Axon renewal will be filed with county procurement records.
