Summary
LMS will add 7th‑grade Geography & History of the World (two high‑school credits), Computing Foundations for 8th grade and retroactive PE credit for 8th grade; LHS removed low‑enrollment electives, added pathways courses and two AP classes, and reported AP exam enrollment growth to over 600 students.
The board approved course‑guide revisions for both Lebanon Middle School and Lebanon High School that add earlier credit opportunities and expand advanced coursework.
At the middle school, Mister Dungey said the district aligned wording to the state course guide, removed under‑enrolled courses (digital art, walking for fitness), and added 'Geography and History of the World' for 7th grade as a two‑credit high‑school course along with Computing Foundations in 8th grade. He said awarding high‑school PE credit in 8th grade will help students acquire credits earlier and improve school‑grade success indicators.
At the high school, Mister Meyer described removing low‑enrollment electives and adding courses such as plants & soils and cooperative education options. He noted the district increased AP offerings and reported that more than 600 students are enrolled for AP exams this year, up from 395 the previous year.
Board members voted to approve both course guides by voice vote; staff said these changes support pathways, increase rigor and give students earlier access to advanced courses.
