Oldsmar mayor, council set schedule to fill Andrew Knapp’s seat; chamber offers farewell

The proposed appointment process includes a five‑minute introduction by each applicant, a 10‑minute question‑and‑answer period by councilmembers, three minutes for final applicant remarks, limited public comment on the applicants, and a ballot vote to select a replacement. Council approved the application and process by voice vote.
Council also filled regional seats left by Knapp’s resignation: it appointed Councilmember Tadzewski to the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council and discussed the mayor’s planned resignation from the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority seat because of attendance constraints; the mayor said she will notify PSTA.
Council took time for ceremonial remarks: multiple members and community speakers praised Knapp’s service, noted his role in bringing forward the community engagement policy and other programs, and offered personal tributes. Knapp said he is moving for family reasons and expects to remain connected to the community.
