Logan's Love donates Project Lifesaver equipment to St John, outlines autism initiatives

Nicole Reveliotis, founder of the nonprofit Logan's Love, told the Saint John Town Council on Nov. 19 that her group has spent three years building local autism support programs and is donating Project Lifesaver equipment to St John.

"We are so excited to be here today," Reveliotis said, explaining that Logan's Love began with a goal to supply Ben's Blue bags and autism training to the Tri Town area and has expanded countywide. She said the organization raised $33,000 at its third annual autism walk, which funded the Project Lifesaver donation and other outreach.

The presentation described Logan's Love events — an autism walk, sensory Santa events and Easter egg hunts — that organizers say offer low-stimulation, inclusive experiences for people with disabilities. Reveliotis said Dyer was the first community designated a Project Lifesaver community and that Highland will receive equipment the following week; the group's stated goal is to make the tools and training available across Lake County.

Deputy Chief Mike Sharp and other town officials thanked the group for the donation and emphasized the value of training and equipment to start and sustain the program. "This helps us with getting the training and the necessary equipment to start our program and to continue the education piece of it," Sharp said.

Council members took photographs with the presenters and accepted a paper check and equipment at the meeting. Organizers asked the town to publicize Logan's Love events, including free sensory Santa sessions that provide one-on-one time with Santa and other accommodations for families.

The presentation ended with council gratitude and an offer to share event details on the town's channels. There was no formal council action required to accept the donation during the meeting.
