At its Dec. 1 meeting the City of Delafield Common Council confirmed three appointments related to public safety and intermunicipal court administration.
Jonathan Sawant was confirmed to the citizen member position on the police commission, filling the seat vacated by Mark Bierley. Council members moved and seconded the confirmation and the motion passed on voice vote.
The council also confirmed Police Chief Landon Niren as the city's representative to the Lake Country Municipal Court Administrative Committee and confirmed Administrator Tom Hafner as the alternate. Tom explained the committee's role: it acts as an "operations committee that votes on things like recommending the budget to the different municipalities, and just kinda goes over how funds are spent," and that it is involved in admitting additional municipalities as members. Council approved both confirmations on motion and voice vote.
The appointments were recorded as part of the mayor's report and will be reflected in municipal committee rosters.
