Forest Lake — At the end of the evening the Planning Commission received brief updates from staff and the council liaison.
Staff reported that building inspections were moved into Community Development, five new hires joined department functions in the last six months and Jason Wagner was named the new building official. Staff said two preliminary plat applications — McKinley Creek Estates (Gustafson property) and Hidden Creek South — are in preliminary review and expected to return in early 2026.
Councilperson Larson updated commissioners on a previously tabled cannabis business licensing matter (possible cultivation authorization) and summarized budget changes that reduced a proposed figure to $7.9 million after adjustments; he said postponing an additional patrol sergeant hire helped the budget. Larson closed with holiday wishes to the commission.
The commission adjourned by voice vote.
