Eric, the supervisor who presented the item, said the county will require a minimum bid threshold of $10,000 and use a quick-claim deed. "I at least want to get it kick started," he said, explaining the county will publish a public-notice packet with bid instructions and a deadline for submissions.
Under the resolution, staff will prepare a sealed-bid packet with the minimum-bid requirement and other terms; the board will not accept bids until the public notice runs. Presenters noted the packet will be posted to the county website and made available to interested parties so they can schedule site visits with Shelby, county staff responsible for coordinating inspections.
The board moved and seconded the measure and recorded a roll-call approval. Board members discussed timing: the public notice was set to begin before the February 6 deadline cited in the presentation, with a February 10 meeting listed as the date when bidders physically present may raise bids at the meeting if they meet the packet requirements.
The resolution also reserves the county’s right to reject any and all bids. The action was recorded as adopted during the meeting.
