Tina Ludwig, regional liaison for Ohio Auditor Keith Faber, presented two Auditor of State honors to the city and to Wooster Grove Corporation during the Wooster City Council meeting on Dec. 1, recognizing clean financial audits and timely report filings.
Ludwig said her office annually audits thousands of local governments and school districts and that the Auditor of State Award with Distinction is given to entities that file financial reports by the statutory due date on a GAAP basis and whose audit reports contain no findings for recovery, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, or similar problems. "This is a great achievement," Ludwig said, and she singled out the city’s finance work for particular praise.
Council members and attendees identified the city finance director, Andre, for leadership, professionalism and "exceptional commitment to fiscal integrity." John Ansell, representing Wooster Grove/Whistler Girls Corporation, thanked finance staff and praised the accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
Mayor and council members marked the award as a reflection of administration and staff efforts and asked that city residents recognize the finance team’s work. The presentation included brief remarks, photos and public congratulations to award recipients and staff; no council action was required.
