Pembroke Park approves 8.5‑mill rate and adopts FY2025‑26 final budget

The Town Commission of the Town of Pembroke Park voted Dec. 10 to adopt a final millage rate of 8.5 mills and to approve the town's final budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2025 and ending Sept. 30, 2026.

Finance Director James Edmond told the commission the hearing was a republished final budget hearing required by the Department of Revenue and that an Excel logic error in the town's eTRIM submission had reversed the initial and final proposed tax increase entries. "This hearing is intended to bring our town back into compliance with eTRIM," Edmond said, adding the correction does not change the millage or rollback rate and that the total budget number remains the same.

The commission opened the public hearing, heard no public comments and moved to vote. A motion to approve Resolution 2025‑077 (final millage) was made and seconded; Vice Mayor Kashem, Clerk Commissioner Hodgkins and Acting Clerk Commissioner Morrissette recorded "yes" votes and the chair announced the motion carried. The commission then considered Resolution 2025‑078 to adopt the final budget for FY2025‑26. Edmond reiterated he had fixed the Excel formula and that the budget totals were unchanged; the commission approved the resolution by roll call.

The approvals complete the town's process to submit corrected eTRIM materials and finalize the operating budget for the coming fiscal year. The commission announced upcoming meetings, including a workshop in January and a regular meeting on Jan. 14, 2026.

The commission's public records list the passed items as Resolution 2025‑077 (final millage) and Resolution 2025‑078 (final budget).
