The Gratiot County Board of Commissioners confirmed multiple board appointments and approved several operational items for the county airport.
Appointments: The board appointed Carla Childers, Robert Engler and David Justin to the Planning Commission for three-year terms. It also appointed Jerry Lewis and Lyle McCune Jr. to the Parks and Recreation Board and named Todd Crawford to the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee. Those appointments were moved, seconded and approved by voice votes.
Airport operations and equipment: During the airport authority session, advisory members reported several operational items: a taxiway repaving project was postponed to spring pending funding, runway-lighting design work is underway, and the airport received an approximately $8,000 Homeland Security grant to install five security cameras. The board approved a motion to purchase an automated external defibrillator (AED) for the terminal. Commissioners also authorized Dennis (airport manager) to update the fuel-card processor to World Fuel Services so the airport fuel kiosk can accept additional card types, including Discover and American Express; the change would be processed through a new bank arrangement.
The board completed routine finance review and authorized paying bills before adjourning the meeting.
