District 62's strategic update covered workforce supports, community outreach and the launch of new digital and curriculum tools.
Speaker 3 said the district is investing in its workforce through continuous professional development, aligned hiring and an educator portrait intended to guide hiring and development. "Our District 62 educators are knowledgeable, innovative, and skillful instructors," Speaker 3 said, and the superintendent council meets regularly with Dr. Amadeh to support two‑way dialogue with staff.
On community engagement, Speaker 4 described a series of events at the Early Learning Center, Forest Elementary School and Algonquin Middle School that included National Night Out and a resource fair, noting that District 62 hosted National Night Out in partnership with the city of Des Plaines and has scheduled the next event for Aug. 4, 2026. The district also debuted 12 new logos and mascots this school year to create a unified look across schools.
As part of digital service improvements, the district launched an AI chatbot on district and school websites "to provide quick answers to questions," Speaker 4 said. Separately, Speaker 6 said the AI task force developed an AI literacy curriculum for K–8 students that has been implemented in middle schools and is being rolled out to elementary schools, and the task force posted a student expectations document and a parent FAQ on every school website.
Why it matters: The combination of staff development, community programming and new digital tools touches school culture, family communications and classroom practice.
Next steps: Staff feedback mechanisms will continue, community events are scheduled for next year, and the AI literacy curriculum will continue to be introduced in elementary grades.
