Guthrie council adopts 2026 meeting calendar, approves consent agenda

GUTHRIE — The Guthrie City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda and adopted the city’s 2026 schedule of regular meetings during the Dec. 2 meeting.
The council considered the consent agenda (items a through h) and, after a motion to 'approve as written' and a second, recorded unanimous approval. The transcript shows routine acceptance with no further questions.
City manager Eddie reminded the council that "Oklahoma State law requires each governing body to adopt a regular calendar of meetings prior to December 15 of the preceding year" and presented the annual calendar included in the council packet. Staff recommended approval and the council unanimously adopted the 2026 calendar; the manager said there were no changes to board meeting dates, locations, or times noted in the packet.
The city manager also used his report to announce upcoming procurement and community events, including an Owenfield bid opening on Dec. 11 (bid packets available through the clerk’s office or Crossland Construction), city office closures Dec. 24–25 and Jan. 1, the Chamber Coffee at the airport hangar and a Santa fly-in on Dec. 13, the Very Merry Guthrie Christmas in the Flats festival on Dec. 20 and other seasonal events. The city plans an employee awards ceremony and luncheon on Friday, Dec. 12, at Meridian Technology.
