Sandra Iguida, one of the applicants, testified she and Ali Idita live at 1281 American Avenue, West Babylon, and that the accessory apartment is a one-bedroom on the first floor currently occupied by her son. After the board confirmed receipt of the required affidavit and documents, Board member Lamont Wilson moved to approve and Carrie seconded; the chair put the motion to a voice vote and it passed (board recorded 'Aye'). The board told the applicants they will receive the permit by mail in a couple of weeks and that renewals occur in three years.
In a separate case, an applicant identified as Idris (last name reported in testimony as Isha/Ishu) testified the accessory apartment at 355 42nd Street is a two-bedroom unit on the downstairs level and is occupied. The board moved and voted to approve that application as well (motion moved by Pete; seconded by Keith Hayward; vote recorded 'Aye').
Both approvals followed routine verification of the affidavit-of-posting and supporting documents. No member of the public objected during either item. The board recorded the approvals as standard renewals by motion.
The board noted applicants should expect permits in the mail and that the renewals will be due in three years.
