Centre County moves MOU for woodworking facility and three contracts to consent agenda

The Centre County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 16 moved multiple contractual items to next week’s consent agenda, including a three-party memorandum of understanding for the Chris King Woodworking building, a one-year LinkedIn Learning renewal, and a human services contract renewal with Eagle View Personal Care Home LLC.

A county staff presenter described the Chris King MOU as a three-party agreement among the developer, the township and the county that requires the developer to reimburse the township for engineering review and inspection costs. The project is a final plan submission in Penn Township for an 8,640-square-foot woodworking building on Long Lane, roughly a half-mile south of State Route 45 near the Millheim Borough line; the package includes a driveway and underground stormwater detention.

IT director Chad described a one-year $37,500 renewal with LinkedIn Corporation for LinkedIn Learning, a learning-management platform the county uses for employee professional development. Chad said year-to-date the county has recorded 736 courses completed on the platform.

Human Services staff requested approval to renew a mental health contract with Eagle View Personal Care Home LLC valued at $748,928, the majority of which is state funding; the county match portion is $34,526 for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.

Board motions to add the Chris King MOU, the LinkedIn contract and the Eagle View contract to next week’s consent agenda were moved and seconded; voice votes carried each motion. The board then approved the week’s short consent agenda by voice vote, which will consolidate formal action on these items into next week’s agenda for final approval.
