The Common Council recognized two long-serving members of the West Bend Fire Department and introduced three newly sworn police officers during its Dec. 15 meeting.
Council approved resolution No. 49 honoring Fire Captain Robert Munday for nearly 28 years of service, noting his roles as a firefighter/EMT, motor pump operator and staff captain who led training and contributed to county EMS protocol development. After the resolution passed, Munday thanked the council and reflected on his career, saying he was proud to leave the department "in capable hands."
The council also approved resolution No. 50 honoring Assistant Fire Chief Chuck Beistel for 32 years of service, citing his progression through the ranks to interim chief and assistant chief as well as county and training leadership roles. Beistel received a plaque and remarks of gratitude from the mayor and council.
Chief Dearing then introduced and pinned three new police officers: Clayton Wagner, Kaylee Tuskiewicz and Matthew Schubert. The chief briefly summarized each officer's background and invited family members to participate in the ceremonial pinning.
All recognition items were approved by voice vote and the council presented plaques and certificates at the meeting.
