The Taos County Commission approved the local transfer of dispenser liquor license DIS-001087 for the premises known as Old Martinez Hall. The applicant, Kayla Stoker (OMH Service Company), joined the meeting online and told the Commission that the existing business and building are being sold to the new operators; Heritage Hotels & Resorts will operate the business.
County staff (zoning, fire, environmental and business-license departments) told the applicant and Commission that several administrative and safety steps remain before a business license can be issued and the premises can open: a current fire inspection, an environmental health inspection, and any required building permits for interior renovations. Commissioners and staff clarified that approval of the liquor-license transfer does not waive those departmental requirements; the motion to approve the transfer passed on a roll-call vote.
Staff said the expected timeline for final state approval of the license, once local approval is granted, is usually about three weeks. County departments will continue to coordinate on outstanding inspections and permits before issuing a business license.
