County honors mental health coordinator Sharon Glover and shows year-in-review video

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners used part of its Dec. 1 meeting to recognize longtime community service and to highlight the county’s work over the past year.
A proclamation read by an official in the chamber honored Sharon Glover for 20 years as a system-of-care coordinator with Alliance Health and the Cumberland County Mental Health Center; it cited her work with child and family team meetings, school events, collaborative county meetings and community outreach, and it named Nov. 17 as a day in her honor. Several commissioners — including Commissioner Adams and Vice Chair Veronica B. Jones — offered personal remarks thanking Glover for years of service and describing her as an invaluable community connector.
Communications Director Diane Rice presented a short end-of-year video compiling county events and board accomplishments. Commissioners praised the communications team for capturing the year’s activities.
The board also presented plaques recognizing the outgoing chair and vice chair for service covering the 12/02/2024–12/01/2025 term and used the occasion for closing gratitude among members.
The recognitions were delivered without formal policy votes; the board then moved on to nominations and elections for chair and vice chair and routine agenda and consent items.
