The Solon Board of Education on Dec. 8 approved a slate of routine consent items, personnel recommendations and student travel by roll call.
The board approved minutes from the Nov. 10 and Dec. 4 meetings; payment of bills totaling $141,902.23; a list of home-instruction tutors and substitute teachers; a set of supplemental and pupil-activity contracts; tuition reimbursements; and several resignations and unpaid leaves of absence. Motions were moved and seconded as noted in the agenda and each item was carried by recorded roll call votes.
Notable items included approval of: the payment of bills ($141,902.23); a list of ten substitute teachers for the 02/2526 school year and a set of supplemental winter contracts to fill previously unfilled positions; and tuition reimbursement requests that the presenter said met district criteria.
Motions and movers (as announced during the meeting): approval of minutes was moved by Missus Barksdale and seconded by Missus Abramowitz; approval of bills was moved by Mister Heckman and seconded by Mister Patton; the Lewis Elementary kitchen contract award (see separate article) was moved by Missus Abramowitz and seconded by Mister Patton; substitutes were moved by Missus Barksdale and seconded by Mister Patton; and other personnel actions were moved and seconded as listed on the agenda.
