The City of Tallahoma Planning Commission re-elected Paul Schwere as chair and named Alex Rice vice chair at its Dec. 15 meeting. Schwere was nominated and the motion to elect him as chair was carried by the commission; the minutes record the result as "vote passes 5 to 0" with an abstention noted during the roll call. Alex Rice was nominated and approved by voice vote to serve as vice chair for the coming calendar year.
Mayor Peter Seaborn told the commission he is working with staff to correct a scheduling issue that left multiple member terms clustered into one year; he said he plans to propose a resolution to reset terms so one member is reappointed each year. The commission discussed holding elections in December to provide incoming officers a full calendar year in the role.
The selections were made at the start of the commission's regular agenda; commissioners moved promptly to the rest of the meeting after the votes.
