Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk board adds and approves consent items, upholds superintendent disciplinary decision

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District Board of Education on Monday added a late agenda item and approved its consent agenda, including a resolution that upholds the superintendent’s disciplinary determination for a student.

During the meeting the board voted to add item 6.16 after the text was read aloud: “Be it resolved that the Board of Education upholds the superintendent's disciplinary determination of student A.” The addition was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote. The board then approved items 6.1 through 6.16 as a block by voice vote.

The consent block included routine business and personnel approvals. The board announced and congratulated five staff members receiving tenure: Danielle Jones (elementary teacher), Anya Bridal (school psychologist), Kimberly Lentzowich (special education teacher), Laura Bartlett (elementary teacher), and Laura Barry (teaching assistant). The board also recognized three retirements: Sandy Scribe (secretary), Kelly Doggett (reading teacher) and Marissa Tute (elementary teacher).

Board members did not request further discussion before the votes, and multiple board members responded “Aye” when the president called for approval.

The board did not provide additional public details about the disciplinary case during the meeting; the agenda language indicates the action was to uphold the superintendent’s prior determination. Board policy and the superintendent’s office will carry out any resulting administrative steps stemming from that determination.
